Who Is Jesus and What Did He Do?

Who Is Jesus and What Did He Do?

Did you know there were over 300 prophecies about his birth ranging from 3500 years to 50 years before his birth? If just 8 of those prophecies came true it would be statistically impossible; 1 in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. The odds of all 300 prophecies coming true about him would be impossible to calculate.

There is actually more written about Jesus by his contemporaries than Alexander the Great. The earliest writing of Jesus was within 5 years of his death. The earliest writing of Alexander was 400 years after his death. Though people do not question the existence of Alexander, they do question the existence of Jesus. It’s not because of the lack of evidence, it’s because of who he claimed to be.

What Is Baptism of the Holy Spirit?

What Is Baptism of the Holy Spirit?

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power. It makes it possible for us to minister in the power of God instead of our own intellectual power. Jesus set the example of how we should minister. All that Jesus did, He did by the power of the Holy Spirit. Although he was God incarnate, he had emptied Himself of all His power. He had to do all He did as a man, full of the Holy Spirit. In so doing, he was the perfect example of how we can live and minister. This is why He said in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Forward Church Official Statement on LGBTQIA+ Issues and Gender Identity

At Forward Church, we are committed to upholding the truth of God’s Word while expressing His love and compassion for every individual. We believe that every person is intrinsically valuable—not because of what they do or feel, but because of the price Jesus paid for them. Our church affirms the biblical view of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman and upholds the truth that God created two genders—male and female—as stated in Genesis. We do not define people by their behavior or experiences, but by their God-given identity and the redemptive purpose He offers through Christ.

"In Christ" Identity Passages to Meditate On

Use these passages as a tool for renewing your mind to the truth that you are seated with Christ in Heavenly places. Personalize these passages. See yourself through your new identity in Christ. Meditate on each one until you not just believe them but also feel them. While we don't live by feelings, we don't really believe a truth that we don't feel. Use these passages to become convinced of and confident in your new creation reality. All Scriptures are from the Amplified Version.

Understand the Different Types of Covenants

Understand the Different Types of Covenants

This is a foundational series for Forward Church. We base everything we teach and all of our ministries on the finished work of Jesus through his death, burial and resurrection. Understanding our New Creation identity in him is the driving force of our path of discipleship. Understanding the sufficiency of the sacrifice of Christ and the establishment of the New Covenant in the blood of Jesus is absolutely vital to a successful life of liberty in Christ. We pray this series is a blessing to you. You can read articles related to each message on Pastor Clint’s blog.

Beautiful Testimony About Hiding Yourself Away with God

A powerful thing happened at church Sunday, God knit together Psalm 16 and a beautiful testimony from my friend Austin. He shared a power experience he recently had with God. It was so amazing because God had given me Psalm 16 for my sermon just a couple days before and it couldn't have been a more perfect fit. I know this will encourage you and even give you insight into how to overcome those areas you've been struggling.

Psalm 16

  1. Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.
  2. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”
  3. I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
  4. Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.
  5. Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.
  6. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
  7. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart (innermost being)  instructs me.
  8. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
  9. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,
  10. because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
  11. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
